Kerry Suzanne Turner
A night out in Perth ends in tragedy for 18-year-old Kerry Turner, whose body was found in bushland a month after she was last seen getting into a mysterious car.
Kerry Suzanne Turner, an 18-year-old shop assistant from Bickley, was a vibrant young woman whose life was tragically cut short in 1991. On the evening of Saturday, June 29, 1991, Kerry and a friend hitchhiked from Armadale to Perth to enjoy a night out at Pinocchio's nightclub in Murray Street. The friends became separated inside the club, and Kerry was last seen leaving alone around 4:00 am on Sunday, June 30.
Her journey home turned into a nightmare. After a taxi driver dropped her off on the Causeway because she couldn't pay the fare, she was seen trying to hitch a ride. A second taxi picked her up but also dropped her off on Shepperton Road in East Victoria Park for the same reason. Shortly after, at approximately 5:00 am, a dark-coloured sedan, possibly a Datsun, was seen pulling up beside her. Witnesses saw Kerry get into the passenger side of the vehicle, which then drove off, heading south-east. This was the last time she was ever seen alive.
When Kerry failed to return home, her worried parents reported her missing on July 1, 1991. For a month, her family and friends anxiously awaited news, with her father even organizing a local search party. Their hopes were shattered on July 28, 1991, when a group of people visiting the Bedfordale area discovered Kerry's fully clothed body hidden behind a log in a bushland area. The cause of her death has not been publicly released, but her case is being investigated as a homicide.
Despite the passage of time, Kerry's murder remains unsolved. Her family has made numerous public appeals for information, and a reward of $1,000,000 is being offered for information that leads to the conviction of the person or persons responsible for her death. Investigators believe that there are people in the community who hold the key to solving this case and have urged them to come forward.
