Community Guidelines
Building a respectful, collaborative space for justice
The Sleuth Collective is a community dedicated to bringing justice to victims and closure to families. Our platform thrives on collaboration, respect, and integrity. These guidelines ensure that our community remains a safe, productive, and respectful space for everyone working toward solving cold cases.
Core Principles
Respect for Victims
Every case represents a real person and grieving families. Treat all discussions with dignity, empathy, and sensitivity.
Evidence-Based Discussion
Base your contributions on facts, credible sources, and verifiable information. Speculation should be clearly labelled as such.
Collaborative Spirit
Work together constructively. Share insights, ask questions, and build on each other's contributions to advance investigations.
Privacy & Safety
Protect the privacy of all individuals. Do not share personal information, contact details, or engage in doxxing or harassment.
Expected Behaviour
✓ Cite Your Sources
Always provide credible sources for information you share. Include links to news articles, official documents, or other verifiable references.
✓ Be Respectful
Treat all community members, victims, families, and persons of interest with respect. Disagreements should be handled professionally and constructively.
✓ Label Speculation
If you're sharing theories or speculation, clearly mark them as such. Distinguish between verified facts and personal interpretations.
✓ Report Concerns
If you see content that violates these guidelines, report it to moderators. Help us maintain a safe and productive community.
✓ Protect Privacy
Do not share personal information about living individuals, including addresses, phone numbers, or social media profiles (except official public figures directly related to cases).
Prohibited Behaviour
✗ Harassment & Abuse
No harassment, bullying, hate speech, or personal attacks. This includes targeting individuals based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
✗ Doxxing
Sharing private information about individuals (addresses, phone numbers, workplace details) is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action.
✗ Misinformation
Deliberately spreading false information, fabricating evidence, or misrepresenting facts undermines investigations and will not be tolerated.
✗ Vigilantism
Do not encourage or engage in vigilante justice. Our role is to gather information and support official investigations, not to take matters into our own hands.
✗ Graphic Content
Do not share graphic images, autopsy photos, or disturbing content. Descriptions of violence should be factual but not gratuitous.
✗ Spam & Self-Promotion
No spam, excessive self-promotion, or commercial solicitation. Keep discussions focused on case investigations and community collaboration.
Enforcement & Consequences
Violations of these guidelines will be addressed by our moderation team. Consequences depend on the severity and frequency of violations:
First Offence (Minor)

Repeated Violations
Temporary suspension (7-30 days) with loss of contribution privileges.
