CIRCUMSTANCES During December 1975, Glenyce McGowan set off from Perth to travel to Tom Price to visit a friend. She obtained a lift from a family friend stopping at various locations.At that time Cyclone Joan hit the North West of Western Australia causing a number of roads to be blocked. Having left Carnarvon the pair headed north, arriving at the Nanutarra Roadhouse at about 5pm on 9 December 1975, where they stayed the night.On the morning of Wednesday, 10 December 1975, her friend left to return to Perth, but Glenyce decided to attempt to continue on to Tom Price.That same afternoon Glenyce arranged with a family she had met for a lift the following morning. This was the last known sighting of her.
